Absence of a validated scale has stalled research on anti-Muslim discrimination health effects
Evidence
Muslim Americans are facing increasing discrimination in the workplace, school settings, and hate crimes, which are taking a toll on their well-being and health (Samari, 2016). However, assessing the impact of anti-Muslim discrimination has been limited by the lack of a scale for measuring the spectrum of anti- Muslim discrimination in the U.S. The Anti-Muslim Discrimination Indexes provide researchers with the tools to assess exposure to anti-Muslim discrimination and how these encounters may impact the well-being of Muslim Americans. — Naheed Ahmed, Measurement of Perceived Interpersonal…, 105
