Self-declared capitalists score highest on ethnocentrism and social dominance
Evidence
In a fall 1995 survey of 501 parents, 26 self-declared capitalists scored moderate on the RWA Scale, but again proved more ethnocentric than any other group. They also scored highest on Pratto et al.’s (1994) Social Dominance Scale. In contrast, the 18 self-described socialists scored lowest on all three measures. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 4280

- CANDY: A compact bar-conversation finding: self-identified capitalists beat every other group on both ethnocentrism and social dominance orientation.
- SHARE: Worth sending to anyone interested in ideology-and-personality research given the small but consistent replication pattern noted by Altemeyer.
