Christian statism dominates religious traditionalism as an empirical factor across samples.

Evidence

Overall, our findings support H1a. Table 2 displays the preliminary estimated factor structures among the CN items across five samples using EFA methods. The eigenvalue indicates each latent factor’s size of explained variance among indicators. CS is a much more salient factor than RT across samples. For the BRS samples, CS’s eigenvalue is bigger than one and RT’s eigenvalue is at least bigger than 0.6. For the ATP sample, both factors’ eigenvalues are bigger than one. To be cautious, we think one should not treat RT as an unimportant factor simply because its eigenvalue is smaller than one (Kaiser 1960) in BRS samples.
