A content-neutral dogmatism scale predicts religious behaviors better than Rokeach’s
Evidence
The corresponding figures for the DOG Scale were —.20, —.33, .51, .33, and .43. All of these are in the expected direction, significant, and substantially larger than those obtained in this dogfight with the much longer D Scale. Moreover, the DOG Scale generally predicted these behaviors better than the RWA Scale did, though not by much. This surprised me, since one can find a fair amount of religious content on the latter, while the DOG Scale is contentneutral. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 2797
