Valencian Moriscos
The Moriscos of Valencia: descendants of Muslims who were forcibly converted to Christianity in Spain, forming a large and economically significant population in the Kingdom of Valencia until their expulsion in the early 17th century. They comprised roughly one-third of the region’s population and supplied about two-thirds of its public funds.
