White liberals high in racial resentment switched to Trump at probabilities above fifty percent.
Evidence
Among those liberals highest in racial resentment, the predicted probability of switching to Trump rises above 50 percent. Although the current research cannot speak directly to whether these individuals voted for Donald Trump because his campaign messages invoked negative stereotypes of racial minorities (Manza and Crowley 2018), this finding provides suggestive evidence that the dynamics we see in our experiments may have consequential effects in American politics. — Rachel Wetts and Robb Willer, Who Is Called by the Dog Whistle?…, 192
