The FBI treated US anti-war activism as material support for terrorism
Evidence
In 2010, the FBI raided the homes and offices of anti-war activists (including Caucasian US citizens) in Illinois, Minnesota, and North Carolina. They were given grand jury subpoenas on the grounds that they provided material support for terrorism. The state not only equated their peace activism with providing material support to terrorists, but also infiltrated various leftist groups. FBI agents became active in the groups, formed friendships, and recorded private conversations. — Deepa Kumar, Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire, 580
