Speculative thought arises inside the proposition rather than through a separate form

Evidence

In Hegel’s view, the dialectical sublation of the predicative proposition can only occur within the arena of the proposition itself. It happens ‘at the level of the form (an der Form)’, as he says in the Encyclopedia Science of Logic. Hence to pass from one form – the predicative – to another – the speculative – requires no other form than that of the proposition. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 1139

  • QUESTION: What exactly distinguishes predicative from speculative form within the same propositional arena? Worth tracing the Encyclopedia passage.
