Overt racism has been replaced by subtle implicit bias

Evidence

Arguably, overt racial bias has receded in modern times. However, the effect of racial bias can operate more subtly to place unequal burdens on minority and majority cultures. Overt bias has been replaced by a more subtle form of racism that we refer to as implicit bias. White people of good will may eschew racism, but nonetheless harbor implicit prejudices that affect the legal system in all of its multifaceted aspects. — Joseph Avery, Jim Sidanius, Joel Cooper, Gregory Davis, Amanda N., Bias in the Law, 21
