Medieval Qur’anic corroboration of the Gospel could be revived as shared ground

Evidence

These Qur’anic verses, these works of theology, if we continue seriously to examine them as friends of Islam, may sometimes give us actual light upon our own problems; more probably, may edify us; and most probably of all, may help us to find common ground where we can usefully agree with Muslims. It may even be possible to go back to one now long neglected train of mediaeval thought, the Qur’anic ‘corroboration’ of the Gospel, and see if it cannot be revived, not ‘controversially to impose false dilemmas upon Muslim opponents, but to illuminate a real if limited community of thought. — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 1743 (#corroborates, via linked claim)
