Legal redress treats justice as restoring balance of what was taken
Evidence
The notion of seeking redress for an unjust loss sits comfortably within the framework of contemporary law, where justice is treated, in its basic form, as a kind of accounting. Recall the image of Lady Justice, bedecked with symbols beside the courthouse door: She stands with a prominent sash about her eyes (representing the impartiality of judgment), a sword in her left hand (the menace of punishment), and a scale in her right. The scale stands for balance. It represents the return of that which has been taken away. It is by the logic of the scale that we as Attention Activists demand the right to reclaim our attention from the frackers. — The Friends of Attention, Attensity!, 246
