Israeli Jewish-Arab dialogue programs produced inconsistent attitude change year to year
Evidence
In the Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam program in Israel, Jewish and Arab trainers conduct three-day conflict management dialogues for Jewish and Arab youths aged 16–17. Studies of this program suggest that it was generally more successful with each succeeding year, but there were clearly years when the program was not successful in changing attitudes (Bargal & Bar, 1992). A study of a related program in Israel obtained similarly mixed results (Hertz-Lazarowitz, Kupermintz, & Lang, 1998). This program involved mutual school visits by Jewish and Arab students in Israel. — , Rudman, Laurie A - On the Nature of…, 2652
