Few books treat Islamophobia as a transnational, globally interconnected system

Evidence

This book aims to fill a critical void in academic and popular literature. It builds on an impressive corpus of books, both domestic and foreign, that interrogate the anatomy and effects of Islamophobia, a subject of considerable interest in academic literature for decades, and more recently in the political and popular spheres. This bibliographic review surveys the books that examine Islamophobia as a transnational and global form of (racial and religious) animus, which are currently few in number, in relation to an examination of Islamophobia as a system of interconnected projects, or “crusades,” that find a common foundation in and are fueled by the American War on Terror. — Khaled A.
