European disparagement of Africans is the raison d’être of African philosophy
Evidence
I have taken time to describe factors of the European disparagement of Africans at length because it constitutes one of major reasons that Bantu Philosophy was brought into existence, and it is that which is still fueling discussions about African philosophy today. The day Africans feel the world respects the humanity of Black people, and they are accorded the rights and opportunities that other human beings enjoy, will be the day that African philosophy is deprived of its main agenda, its raison d’être. So, without the background of European disparagement of Africans, Bantu Philosophy would not have seen the light of day. — Frans Dokman, Beyond Bantu Philosophy_…, 141
