Canadian politicians of all parties show no left-wing authoritarianism

Evidence

Switching to relative differences then, Democrats in this study scored a little higher on the LWA Scale than Republicans, just as New Democrats opened up a small gap on Conservatives in Saskatchewan. But in neither case was the difference significant. So we can find no evidence for the alleged authoritarian on the left in American legislatures either. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3650 (#corroborates, via linked claim)

What happened with the LWA items?* Among the 67 candidates, they intercorrelated . on the average. But item means sank very low, averaging 2.30 on the 1-9 scale. The NDP mean was 2.57, that of the Liberals equaled 2.24, and the Tories came in at 2.07 (F = 1.84; p < .17). While the numbers proceed in the expected direction, their small and nonsignificant gaps underscore the fact that, as much as these parties split on other matters, none of them could be characterized as left-wing authoritarian. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 2979 (#expands, via linked claim)
