Political party affiliation strongly predicts authoritarian personality scores among Canadian legislators.
Evidence
In Canada, the test separated the lawmakers into their political parties almost as cleanly as a role-call vote. New Democrats scored very low, Conservatives scored high, and the middling Liberals plopped in the middle. The pointbiserial NDP versus Conservative correlations averaged a wee .87. The American data found Democrats much less authoritarian than Republicans in California, but proved inconclusive elsewhere. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3347
