A converted Moor wrote a polemic still following medieval Christian conventions

Evidence

A wellwritten little book is the Confusion by Juan Andrés; a good deal of his material is new, his plan typically mediaeval. He might easily have written two centuries earlier; a ‘converted Moor’, his work strongly suggests traditional Christian influences; he might be the author of the Contrarietas, born again, perhaps with more discretion. — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 1550
