The New Left

The New Left was an international political and social movement that emerged in the 1960s, distinct from traditional Marxist or Old Left politics. It expanded the definition of culture and politics beyond economics, encompassed diverse national origins and crystallized around 1967-68, and anticipated later new social movements by rejecting economic determinism as central to political thought.
