Big Other
Big Other refers to the institutional infrastructure of surveillance capitalism—the vast assemblage of data collection, algorithmic processing, and predictive systems that observe and shape human behavior at scale (distinct from the Foucauldian “Big Brother” notion of state surveillance). It operates by absorbing behavioral data and using it to engineer and predict behavior rather than reform souls.
