Worldwide atheists would rank as the fourth largest religion
Evidence
Although we live in a world where most people are religious, the number of atheists worldwide is not trivial. Sociologist Phil Zuckerman illustrates this fact vividly: if we counted atheists all over the world, and considered them a “religious” group, they would be the fourth largest one in the world, trailing only Christians, Muslims, and Hindus. In his estimate, people who do not believe in God or gods are 58 times more numerous than Mormons, 41 times more numerous than Jews, and twice as numerous as Buddhists. — Norenzayan, Ara, Big gods - how religion transformed…, 241
