White domestic terrorism still shapes immigration policy because Arabs are visually raced as terrorists

This conceptual trick had destructive practical ramifications. It distanced wars waged in the name of protecting white civilization from the hellish terror unfolding in Iraq and Yemen, on one hand, and the white supremacist terror inflicted by the likes of Dylann Roof in Charleston, South Carolina—a white man who killed nine Black churchgoers inside of their church—and Brenton Tarrant in Christchurch, New Zealand. — Khaled A. In 1994, Pipes founded the Middle East Forum (MEF), which publishes the Middle East Quarterly, a pseudo-academic journal warning of the growing threat from Islam and Muslims. He opposed US alliances with Arab states and called for military intervention in Iran. Most notably, Pipes was among the most vocal purported experts who blamed Arabs and Muslims for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombings, only to be proven wrong when the government confirmed that the perpetrator was Timothy McVeigh, a disgruntled White Christian male veteran. Tellingly, the media did not conduct an inquisition into the faults of Christianity. — Sahar F. Aziz, The Racial Muslim, 705 (#corroborates, via linked claim)
