Uniform thin-stemmed stands produce comparable sound decay times
Evidence
It is interesting to note that the T30 value at site 8 is very similar to that found by Sakai et al. (2001) in the bamboo forest. In Sakai et al., the bamboo forest had a uniform trunk diameter around 0.13 m and a T60 of approximately 1.5 s. This corresponds well to the T60 value of 1.8 s in the maple sapling stand (site 8). — Donald G. Albert, Michelle E. Swearingen, Frank E. Perron, and David L. Categorization
- XREF: Directly links to Sakai et al. (2001) bamboo forest measurements, useful as a cross-study comparison point.
- CANDY: A bamboo grove and a maple sapling thicket, thousands of miles apart, sound almost identical to the ear.
