The Twelve Theses on Attention originated in a 2019 retreat.

Evidence

In 2019, when the seed-group of the Friends of Attention first came together in person for a week, we holed up in the woods on the border between Pennsylvania and New York, near a town called Narrowsburg, on the farm property of a pair of artist-friends. There, we wrote. And the twelve propositions that we drafted across those urgent and drifting days, the Twelve Theses on Attention (later published and translated into a dozen languages, and turned into a set of films and prints), became the foundational compact of our widening coalition. — The Friends of Attention, Attensity!, 357
