The Albertine Statute established Piedmont’s constitutional monarchy and later governed unified Italy
Evidence
Carlo Alberto, King of Sardinia (Piedmont), granted a constitution to Piedmont on 4 March 1848. This “Albertine Statute” provided for a parliament, with ministers responsible to it rather than to the King; it was subsequently extended to the other regions which were annexed to form the Kingdom of Italy. — Antonio Gramsci, Selections from the Prison Notebooks, 1913
