The absolute other emerges from the same uncontrollable necessity as the Same
Evidence
For what we see coming without ever seeing it come, in any way (and regardless of whether or not these ‘events’ are analysed in this book), the uncontrollable as such, and the inevitable, and the unsteadiness, still seem incorporated within the same necessity, the necessity of the Same. From this necessity of the Same would emerge the inevitable, uncontrollable and unsteady question of the other itself, of the absolute other. This question of the other shares these very same traits (the uncontrollable, the unsteadiness, the inevitable) with the question of the origin, of the origin of the speculative – and hence of all this dialectic – as a question emanating from the Absolute Other. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 140
