Speech intelligibility measures the proportion of correctly identified transmitted messages
Evidence
The technical interpretation of speech intelligibility is related to the attributes of the transmission channel. To measure speech intelligibility subjectively, a set of speech signals is specified and delivered over the channel. The listener reports the message he or she perceived, and the proportion of correct identifications is taken as the subjective measure of speech intelligibility. There also exist objective measures, both instrumental and computational, that correlate well with subjective speech intelligibility. β Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- Anβ¦, 2383
