Socialist states have been as ecologically destructive as capitalist ones
Evidence
While the rapaciousness of capitalism is thus of enormous concern, socialist countries share the same logic of domination—especially when it comes to the land, and have been just as destructive to the environment as capitalist countries. Thus the problems we face are deeper than can be dealt with by the usual critique of capitalism that offers socialism as an alternative. They are in fact created through and imbedded in the deeply held assumptions and associated discursive forms that helped to make modern industrial systems possible in the first place. — Rebecca A.
