Shoulder reflection delays versus direct sound vary inversely with source elevation
Evidence
The first arc, with apex at 1.5 ms, is caused by the reflection from the shoulders. When the source is above the subject, the sound reaching the shoulders is reflected back to the ears, and thus it travels a distance about 30 cm longer than the direct sound, which causes the 1-ms delay seen in the figure. β Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- Anβ¦, 1421
