Seismographs built for earthquakes also capture pistol shots in forests
Evidence
A DMT Summit II 24-bit digital seismograph system was used to record the waveforms with a sampling rate of 32 kHz per channel. This system is composed of number of independent, two-channel digitizers connected by Ethernet cable to a laptop computer that served as a controller and provided data storage. — Donald G.
