Scattered evidence indicates the Fatimid Mission ran a central grand strategy.
Evidence
In the nature of things, secret activities such as subversion, especially when successful, leave few traces for the historian to examine. There are, however, some scraps of information, from here and there, which throw light on the work of the Fatimid emissaries. Pieced together, and compared with other evidence, they suggest that the operations of the Mission were centrally directed and were part of a grand strategy, the ultimate aim of which was to destroy the Sunni Caliphate and establish the Fatimid Imamate in its place. — Bernard Lewis, From Babel to Dragomans, 401
