Scales-based justice assumes all things are exchange-equal by quantity

Evidence

For scales measure one property: “weight.” Scales imply that this is the relevant quality, and that this property can be measured and compared in terms of quantity. That things of like weight-quantity are, at least in that way, equivalent. What the scale assumes, in other words, is that there exists a measure by which one thing can be found exchange-equal to another thing. This is, of course, only sometimes true. — The Friends of Attention, Attensity!, 247
