Savarkar’s rhetoric manufactured conviction from passion without evidence

Evidence

The words of Savarkar and Golwalkar provide the basis for the Sangh’s ideological apparatus, to this day. They are simplified and refracted through daily teachings at its training centers and among its myriad affiliates. Savarkar spoke exceptionally strong words. Bereft of even a single substantiation for his assertions, he made them carry conviction by sheer rhetorical passion, his language weaving together love for the Hindu nation and hatred for its imagined enemy. Savarkar’s love, however, has a fleeting presence and purpose: it exists simply to stoke anger. His was, from beginning to end, a mysticism of hate. — Nadim N.
