Saudi wealth transformed Wahhabism into a global ideology under the guise of Salafism
Evidence
Since the 1960s, Saudi Arabia has used its wealth, power, and geography to propagate Wahhabi teachings under the guise of Salaļ¬sm, and by doing so, transformed Wahhabism into a global ideology. Over the past six decades, Saudi-sponsored scholarship, preaching, philanthropy, social activism, and jihadist movements have propagated Wahhabi teachings among Muslims worldwide by presenting Wahhabismās understanding of the ļ¬rst generations of Islam as a matter of fact and have trained generations of scholars in methodologies that would vindicate Wahhabi doctrines. ā Nadim N.
