Rwandan radio broadcasts incited genocide by dehumanizing Tutsis
Evidence
Before going to rest, I went to see Faustin, who had spent the day listening to the radio after his rescue. The station RTLM [Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines] had reported the murders of moderates and their families. Radio-Television Death encouraged its listeners to massacre Tutsis and asked for the heads of all moderate Hutus, which it considered to be traitors. Recorded music performed by popular singers accompanied these calls. The songs aimed to provoke violence with words such as “I hate the Hutus, hate the Hutus, I hate the Hutus who think that Tutsis aren’t snakes.” — Charles Tilly, Regimes and Repertoires, 939
