Revolutionaries who internalized the oppressor can re-create oppression after taking power.
Evidence
This invasion is especially terrible because it is carried out not by the dominant elite reorganized as such, but by those who have participated in the revolution. As men who “house” the oppressor, they resist as might the latter themselves the further basic steps which the revolution must take. And as dual beings they also accept (still due to the remnants) power which becomes bureaucratized and which violently represses them. — Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, 506

- XREF: This is the internalization-of-the-oppressor mechanism from earlier chapters paying off concretely; connects to the reader’s concern about the new vanguard producing its own domination. — connects to: Those who rejected compassion were negatively declaring themselves for revolution; Oppression chains the oppressor as much as the oppressed. — Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex, 1370; Identity adopted as liberation can harden into a new form of imprisonment — Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex, 1078 (+2 more)
- DEEPTHINKING: The paradox that anti-oppression actors reproduce oppression by housing the oppressor within themselves is dense enough to sit with.
