Religion’s relationship to egalitarianism and prejudice remains under-researched

Evidence

In the prejudice domain, as in most other aspects of psychology, little is known about the role of religion. In particular the linkage of religious values to egalitarianism, or to prejudice and discrimination, has not received adequate attention, despite the claims made by Myrdal and Allport (cf. Batson & Stocks, ch. 25 this volume). The growing political role of religion across the globe, intermixed as it often is with ethnocentrism and xenophobia, merits greater attention. — , Rudman, Laurie A - On the Nature of…, 2204
