Recovery from temporary hearing shift takes roughly double the exposure time
Evidence
The recovery time can be from minutes to several days. As a general rule, one should allow about double the exposure time for recovery, or a time when hearing has recovered to normal. A sufficiently large exposure to noise leads to a permanent hearing threshold shift and the recovery to normal hearing does not happen. β Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- Anβ¦, 2689
