Rebels who are authoritarian are more ethnocentric and homophobic than other rebels

Evidence

I think I can even tell you how to spot Wild-Card Authoritarians among the rest of the rebels. In this study, the High-Highs distinguished themselves, not only by upsetting my expectations, but also by their scoring high on two measures of (right-wing) authoritarian aggression that happened to be in the booklet. Seven of the 11 landed in the upper quartile on the Ethnocentrism distribution, and 9 of them were in the top quarter of the Attitudes toward Homosexual Scale. So they seem to be relatively hostile and prejudiced peo- ple. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 2909
