Past sexual partner count strongly predicts relationship cheating
Evidence
The best predictor was provided (obviously) by the answer to an earlier question on the survey about how many sexual partners the person had had. Most students had had zero or one partner, and only two of these had ever cheated (by the definition I provided). The more sexual partners a person had had, the more likely some of these sex acts had involved a betrayal of a relationship. Two-thirds of the students with over three sexual partners had cheated at least once. Among those (few) with over eight partners, nearly 80% had cheated. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 2421
