Parents more strongly endorsed abolishing the Charter than their student children.

Evidence

I repeated this study in the fall of 1990 with a sample of 235 parents of Manitoba students. While I thought the “older and wiser” parents would see the enormous danger lurking behind the bogus letter, they actually thought it was a little more “‘sensible” (X = 2.64) than the students had and positively agreed that the Charter should be abolished (4.91). Again, authoritarianism played its role, with RWA scores correlating . and . with these two sentiments. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 271
