Over a million Pakistanis lived undocumented in the U.S. in 2004
Evidence
Representing the Pakistani diaspora as diverse is clearly important to the government of Pakistan, as well. For example, in its yearbook for 2004–2005, the Overseas Pakistanis Division of the Ministry of Labor, Manpower, and Overseas Pakistanis estimated that in 2004, the population of Pakistanis living in the U.S. (including students) had reached about 600,000 and that more than twice that number were in the U.S. without documentation (i.e., they had overstayed their visas or otherwise fallen out of legal status). — Junaid Rana, Terrifying Muslims, 923
