Only two dimensions suffice to generate a concept’s full structural decisions

Evidence

The basic framework has a fractal character. While there are many question marks in the figure, the basic fractal character consists of just one question mark. Any time there are two or more boxes that lead upward to another box there are structural decisions. Thus the simplest is when one is linking just two indicators or dimensions. The basic structural decisions and features do not really change from two to some larger number. The number of dimensions really matters when one is in the weakest link or best shot classes of aggregation because of the nature of substitutability. But the basic fractal character of concept structure means that the basic issues apply when there are only two dimensions or indicators. — Gary Goertz, Social Science Concepts and Measurement, 923
