Narrow-band tuned absorbers target specific modes while broadband traps address many
Evidence
Narrow band, tuned, membrane absorbers are a logical solution when only a few modes are problematic, placed so that they address the offending modes (use standing-wave patterns like those in Figure 14.4 to find the high-pressure regions). There are several suppliers of low-frequency absorbers, most of which are broadband, and some of them are not effective at very low frequencies, so look for realistic specifications. Broadband absorption is useful in some situations, just as narrow band is in others. β Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics andβ¦, 1567
