Muslim American surveillance contradicts postracial and colorblind claims

Evidence

I conclude this book with a discussion of the implications of surveillance, the racialization of Muslim Americans, and the tenuous nature of their future in America. At the time that I conducted the interviews for this book, numerous pundits put forth the idea that the United States had finally realized a “postracial” era with the election of Barack Obama. But the experiences of Muslim American men and women directly challenge the notion that a colorblind society has been attained. — Saher Selod, Forever Suspect_ Racialized…, 82
