Music favors longer RT near 0.5 s while movies prefer 0.2 s
Evidence
There is no single RT that guarantees satisfaction because the requirements for listening to stereo music is so different from watching immersive movies. RTs for music can drift towards 0.5 s, while those for movies drift towards 0.2 s. A safe middle ground is 0.3 s to 0.4 s, which embraces well-furnished rooms in many parts of the world, but there are regional differences. — Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics and…, 1452
