Moral disengagement operates across all social classes, ages, races, and cultures

Evidence

Those of lower education exhibited higher moral justification for capital punishment than the higher educated. Compared to females, males were higher moral disengagers for the death penalty, and more inclined to dehumanize condemned inmates. Age groups did not differ in their moral justification of executions or in dehumanization of inmates. — Albert Bandura, Moral Disengagement, 1975 (#complicates, via linked claim)
