Manitoba studentsâ acceptance of homosexuals rose sharply during the early 1990s
Evidence
I have found a noticeable drop in ATH Scale scores among Manitoba introductory psychology students lately. The mean of the scale shown in Exhibit 1.3 among 105 students in the fall of 1990 was 52.1. It was 50.0 among 559 students the following autumn. In the fall of 1992, it had dropped to 46.2 for 413 students. By the next autumn it had plummeted to 41.8 among 803 studentsâfirmly on the ââacceptanceâ side of the neutral point (60) on a scale whose scores can range from 12 to 108. The September 1994 mean equaled 41.5 among 456 students. â Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3921
