Manipulation tactics cause far more unwanted intercourse than force alone
Evidence
Nineteen percent of the women said they had been “talked into” sex “by the male overwhelming you with continual arguments and pressure.” Twentyseven percent said they had been duped by male flattery, or a guy telling them he cared for them more than he really did. Seventeen percent said they had been maneuvered into agreeing after being taken to a “romantic spot” or a “make-out party.” Twenty-one percent said alcohol or drugs had led them to intercourse they did not want. Thirteen percent said they had been physically forced into intercourse. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 2448
