Listeners can detect changes in the probability statistics of continuous acoustic textures
Evidence
Human listeners (n = 15, 10 performed to criterion level) were presented with a continuous acoustic texture and required to detect a change in stimulus statistics, which could occur at a random time, after which they had 2 s to respond. Changes occurred in the probability of occurrence of tones in randomly chosen spectral regions (Fig. 1a ). β Dijk, Pim van, Physiology, Psychoacoustics andβ¦, 3325
