Key market-liberal economist Shenfield remained remarkably obscure
Evidence
Shenfield (1909–1990) is a very shadowy figure whose wife had a Who’s Who entry, but who, unusually, did not have one for himself. In 1948 he was appointed in Birmingham as assistant lecturer in economics (alongside Frank Hahn), but there is no record of how long he remained in this post. In the mid-1950s he was economic adviser to the Federation of British Industry. — Philip Mirowski & Dieter Plehwe (eds.), The Road from Mont Pèlerin, 489
